A song that begins with dirty sounding bass, ‘Peaches’ by The Stranglers soon kicks into a reggae tinged song with making it a great song.
Released around the same time of The Sex Pistol‘s ‘God Save the Queen’ helped to give the punk movement another classic albeit with the music that most people wouldn’t link to punks. The song had lyrics inspired by sexual content by looking at women on a beach.
The song would be banned by BBC but, it wouldn’t stop the song from becoming a hit as it reached number 8 on the UK charts. A great catchy and memorable song.
